How to Take Admission in GSOS Gujarat

Gujarat State Open School (GSOS) offers a simple, transparent and student-friendly admission process for learners seeking Class 9th, 10th (Secondary) and Class 11th, 12th (Higher Secondary) education through Open & Distance Learning (ODL) mode. GSOS provides both Online and Offline admission facilities for the convenience of students across Gujarat.

Note: Online admission is preferred for faster processing. Offline applications may take additional 3-5 working days for data entry into the system. Students applying offline must carry original documents for verification.

Eligibility Criteria

🎓 For Class 9th Admission:

Minimum age: 13 years as on 31st July of admission year
Must have passed Class VIII from a recognized school
Self-certificate acceptable in case of no formal schooling (subject to verification)
No upper age limit

🎓 For Class 10th (Secondary) Admission:

Minimum age: 14 years as on 31st July of admission year
Must have passed Class IX from a recognized school OR
Must have passed Class VIII with 2 years gap (for direct admission)
Self-certificate acceptable in case of no formal schooling

Minimum age: 15 years as on 31st July of admission year
Must have passed Class X (Secondary) from a recognized board
Students from GSEB, CBSE, ICSE, NIOS or any recognized board eligible

Minimum age: 16 years as on 31st July of admission year
Must have passed Class XI from a recognized school/board OR

Step by Step Admission Process

Follow these simple steps to complete your admission in Gujarat State Open School:

Check Eligibility

Carefully read the eligibility criteria for your desired class (9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th). Ensure you meet the minimum age requirement and educational qualification before proceeding. Contact GSOS helpline for any eligibility-related queries.

Choose Admission Mode

Decide whether you want to apply Online through the GSOS website or Offline by visiting a nearby GSOS Study Centre. Online mode is faster and allows you to track your application status in real-time.

Fill Application Form

Online: Visit gsos.org.in and navigate to "Apply Online". Fill in your personal details, academic history, choice of subjects, and preferred study centre.
Offline: Visit the study centre, collect the physical form, and fill it completely with accurate information. Centre staff will assist if needed.

Upload / Submit Documents

Online: Upload scanned copies of all required documents in the prescribed format. Ensure documents are clear and legible. Accepted formats: JPG, PNG, PDF.
Offline: Attach self-attested photocopies of all required documents with the application form. Carry original documents for verification at the centre.

Pay Admission Fee

Online: Pay the prescribed admission fee through available online payment modes including debit card, credit card, net banking, UPI, or wallet.
Offline: Pay fees through cash, demand draft, or online transfer at the study centre. Obtain a proper fee receipt with stamp and signature.

Application Verification

Your application and documents will be verified by GSOS officials. If any discrepancy is found, you will be contacted via phone or email for clarification. Offline applications are verified by the study centre coordinator and then forwarded to the regional office.

Admission Confirmation

Upon successful verification, you will receive an admission confirmation along with your enrollment number via email/SMS. You can then access your identity card, study materials, and other resources from the GSOS student portal.

Fee Structure (Approximate):
• Class 9th & 10th (Secondary): ₹1,500 - ₹2,000 per annum
• Class 11th & 12th (Higher Secondary): ₹2,000 - ₹3,000 per annum
• Additional exam fees apply per subject.
• SC/ST students may avail fee concession as per government norms.
