Punjab State Open School (PBSOS) is a Government initiative established in 2011 to provide open and distance education to students who are unable to pursue formal schooling through the regular system. For over a decade, PBSOS has been serving the educational needs of thousands of learners across Punjab and beyond.

Punjab State Open School is an autonomous open schooling board established under the Government of Punjab initiative. The board has been officially approved since 2011 to conduct Secondary (Matriculation) and Senior Secondary (Class XII) examinations through Open & Distance Learning mode.
